What is dental lamina nedir?

Dental lamina is a group of cells that form during embryonic development from oral epithelium and are responsible for the formation of the primary teeth. It consists of two layers of cells: the outer enamel epithelium (OEE) and the inner dental papilla (DP). The OEE will eventually form the enamel on the tooth surface, while the DP will form the dentin, pulp, and roots of the tooth. The dental lamina is only present during the early stages of tooth development and will eventually be replaced by the permanent teeth. Dental lamina defects can lead to abnormalities in tooth formation, such as hypodontia, where one or more teeth fail to develop.
